Waga Energy was set up on January 28, 2015 in Meylan (Isère), an industrial area on the outskirts of Grenoble, by a group of engineers, three of whom previously worked for the Air Liquide Group: Mathieu Lefebvre, Nicolas Paget, and Guénaël Prince. Five years later, this young, innovative company has become an industrial SME with 40 employees and subsidiaries in the United States and Canada.
Resolutely committed to energy transition and tackling climate change, WAGA energy has already injected over 11 million cubic meters of biomethane into the gas grid, providing enough energy to run 10,000 cars for a year!
Waga Energy operates nine units, which currently supply 20,000 French households with clean, local, renewable gas produced from their waste, while also avoiding 30,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions per year.
These photos look back at some of the highlights of five years in which we’ve given it full gas!
