Waga Energy activity expands to Brazil!

6 February 2025

Waga Energy is proud to announce its expansion into the Brazilian market with the launch of a new subsidiary. With 850 operational landfills and nearly 3,000 open-air dumps requiring modernization, Brazil presents a significant opportunity for sustainable waste management and energy generation.

Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) production from landfill biogas offers not only environmental benefits but also significant economic incentives to drive the creation of modern, sustainable landfills. As Brazil works to integrate RNG into its energy mix, this renewable fuel plays a critical role in reducing dependence on fossil fuels and improving air quality.

The recently approved law “Lei do Combustível do Futuro” (PL-508) highlights Brazil’s commitment to renewable energy, with economic measures that promote biomethane production and usage.

Additionally, COP30 coming to Belém in November 2025, demonstrates the weight and responsibility that Brazil has in relation to local and global levels of greenhouse gas emissions.

We are proud to bring our expertise to Brazil and contribute to a cleaner, more sustainable future.
