Taking action for the energy transition

Road to clean energy. Road to clean energy.

Our first priority is to make an active contribution to the energy transition by reducing greenhouse gas emissions and replacing the use of fossil natural gas with biomethane, its clean, local and renewable equivalent.

By building long-term partnerships based on trust with local authorities and international waste management leaders, we are developing a cooperative industrial model that is part of a virtuous circular economy and creates value for local communities.

Each project carried out in collaboration with our international partners is another step towards a sustainable energy mix: by recovering a byproduct of waste management, the landfill gas recovered by landfill sites, Waga Energy is able to produce large volumes of biomethane at a competitive price that is guaranteed in the long term.

Particular attention is devoted to managing the waste generated by our business activities and to preserving biodiversity. Waga Energy achieves a positive result, emitting less than it consumes, but our commitment doesn’t stop there: we’re aiming for continued growth of our positive impact by rapidly rolling out the WAGABOX® solution around the world and making biomethane accessible to as many people as possible. As part of this approach, our aim is to set an example by focusing on control and efficiency in our development, while reducing our energy consumption and use of resources as much as possible.

Waga Energy is extending this environmental approach by carrying out a Carbon Footprint Assessment for Scopes 1, 2 and 3,
a prerequisite for identifying areas for improvement that can be implemented to further limit our carbon footprint.

Our commitment to the energy transition has also been boosted through an ISCC (International Sustainability and Carbon Certification) process: this European standard guarantees the quality of the biomethane produced by our WAGABOX® units, ensuring its traceability and compliance with biofuel regulations.

Waga Energy is also eligible for the green taxonomy for 100% of its turnover

The European Union is gradually rolling out a green taxonomy, classifying economic activities according to their climatic, environmental and social impact, in order to direct private investment and public aid towards the most virtuous sectors.
