Waga Energy won First Prize in the Fighting Climate Change Awards, and is one of the three winners of the Innovation Showcase at Pollutec, the international trade show for environmental equipment, technologies and services, held in Lyon, France, from November 29th to December 2nd 2016.

For its first participation in the Pollutec trade show, Waga Energy received the First Prize in the 2016 Fighting Climate Change Awards, a distinction attributed by Ademe, the French Environment & Energy Management Agency, and the Ministry of Environment, as part of the 2016 Business & Environment Awards.
Waga Energy is also one of the three winners of the Innovation Showcase, a competition organized at the show to promote innovative companies in the environmental sector.
“These awards testify to the interest aroused by our project among environmental stakeholders. In a context of climate emergency, they will help us to deploy on a large scale our innovative solution to produce energy from the pollution generated by landfills,” said Mathieu Lefebvre, co-founder and CEO Waga Energy.
Last September, Waga Energy was elected start-up of the year 2016 in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes by EY and L’Express magazine.
